Online psychologist in Gold Coast.
The Gold Coast looks easy from the outside, but shift work, tourism seasons, family and study pressures still add up. MeHelp pairs you with a registered psychologist online — from Coolangatta to Helensvale.
Sessions run on Gold Coast time (AEST (no daylight saving)).

Start where you are.
Three quick ways to begin, no matter what stage you're at.
Why online psychologist sessions work for Gold Coast residents.
Whether you're managing shift patterns, small business stress, or the pull of always being 'on', online sessions remove the drive and fit around your week.
Online psychology sessions for Gold Coast residents take those barriers out of the way:
- No commute, no waiting room. Sessions start at your time, from wherever you are.
- Same-week first session. Most Gold Coast clients see a psychologist within seven days.
- Evening and weekend slots. Easier to fit around work, family, and study.
- The same evidence. Research consistently shows that for most conditions, online therapy is as effective as in-person.
- AEST (no daylight saving). Sessions adjust to your local time, so a 7pm appointment is actually 7pm Gold Coast time.

How to start.
Most Gold Coast clients have their first session within the same week.
Book a GP appointment
Ask your GP in Gold Coast for a mental health consultation. A longer appointment gives you time to talk through what's going on.
Get your plan and referral
Your GP can prepare a Mental Health Treatment Plan and signed referral. MeHelp needs both before bulk-billed sessions can begin.
Send it to MeHelp
Upload your documents to our secure folder, email them, or ask your GP to fax. We'll match you with a psychologist and book your first Gold Coast-time session.
With a referral, or without.
Both get you to the same place — an AHPRA-registered psychologist, online. The difference is cost and a GP visit.
With a Medicare referral
Bulk billed — nothing to pay.
- Up to 10 sessions a calendar year
- Needs a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan + referral
- We bill Medicare directly
Without a referral
Pay privately — no GP required.
- No GP visit, no referral
- No session limit — go at your pace
- Often a first session this week
- Completely private — nothing shared

Local support in and around Gold Coast.
Gold Coast PHN is the Primary Health Network for the city, covering Coolangatta to Jacobs Well and west to Canungra. At the 2021 Census, the Gold Coast - Tweed Heads urban area, which takes in Tweed Heads on the NSW side, had 693,596 people.
The Northern Gold Coast Medicare Mental Health Centre is at Pimpama. Gold Coast Health, the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service, delivers hospital and community healthcare services across the Gold Coast. headspace runs centres at Southport and Upper Coomera, and headspace Tweed Heads is across the border in NSW.
Queensland's 24/7 mental health access line connects people with their nearest Queensland public mental health service. An online psychologist adds to this mix without replacing any part of it. A GP on the coast can remain your main doctor, a teenager might use headspace Southport or Upper Coomera, and the access line is there if things become urgent. Alongside that, a MeHelp psychologist can see you by video for ongoing therapy, from home or from wherever you have privacy between Coolangatta and the northern suburbs. If you or someone near you is at risk, use the crisis contacts on this page straight away.
