Online Psychologist for FIFO Workers
Two weeks on, one off, or whatever your roster looks like, it rarely leaves a regular weekday open for appointments. MeHelp connects FIFO workers with an AHPRA-registered online psychologist by phone or video, so sessions can be booked around your swing instead of waiting for a gap.

Support that fits around a roster.
Time at home is short and full, and time on site is long. Booking online means sessions can carry on whether you are on site or at home, at times that suit each swing. Sessions are available across every state and territory, day, evening and weekend.
Common things FIFO workers talk about.
Being away
Missing birthdays, school events and ordinary weeknights at home.
Coming home
Settling back into family routines, then leaving again a week later.
Sleep and fatigue
Long shifts, night rotations and sleep that doesn't reset on days off.
Life on site
Workload, time away from your usual supports, and tension with a crew you live alongside.
On site or at home: phone or video.
Video suits a private room at home or a quiet space on site. If the connection isn't up to it, choose a phone session instead and your psychologist rings you at the booked time.
If you fly between states, check which time zone your booking is in. Western Australia runs on AWST with no daylight saving, while New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and the ACT move their clocks in summer.
Partners and families at home.
FIFO affects the people at home as well. Partners can book their own sessions with MeHelp, and couples can work on the relationship together through relationship counselling. If your employer offers MeHelp through an Employee Assistance Program, the EAP extends to immediate family.
Funding: Medicare, WorkCover and workplace EAP.
There are a few ways to fund sessions, and each has its own page: Medicare bulk billing, WorkCover psychology if you have an accepted workers compensation claim, and your workplace Employee Assistance Program if your employer offers one.
With a referral, or without.
Both get you to the same place — an AHPRA-registered psychologist, online. The difference is cost and a GP visit.
